Biology students used their knowledge of cells and organelles to complete a cell building activity on Friday in class. They got to eat their sweet cells afterwards! Nothing fuels the mind like a sugar rush!

Connor and Jayden laying down a cytoplasm base
Grayson, Miley, Cece, and Riley building their cells
Creative use of the fruit roll-up to make a Golgi apparatus, Kenzie!
Kyle’s fancy sprinkle ribosomes!
Peep the mitochondria details that Cece added!
Riley used straws to simulate microtubules. She removed them before eating! No worries!
Here we have some beautiful lysosome stars!
Michaela killed it with our one and only plant cell!
That’s what I call creative cellular chaos! Great job, Ryder!
Students plan out their cells by deciding which organelles to add, what they look like, and what they should use to simulate each part
