Students have been busy in STEM class this year! We have been working with Northwest Missouri State University to get some new STEM activities in our classroom. After learning basic coding through code.org, students put their newfound skills to work with the iRobots we borrowed from Northwest. Students programmed the robots to find their way through a maze and to write their own names. Students also had the opportunity to build with gears and worm drive kits and to learn the basics of fingerprinting. The students are excited to see which new STEM activity they will be working with next!

DeKalb JH girls win tonight 17-14!
A few members of our DMS/ DHS basketball teams that were in good standing helped out yesterday at the annual Golden Oldies Thanksgiving dinner. These students did a great job representing our school! We had a great time at the National FFA Convention last week in Indianapolis, IN. We toured Mark Twain Cave, a honey farm, attended National FFA workshops and sessions, attended the huge FFA career show and participated in National FFA Days of Service. Great experiences!

The elementary had an amazing assembly today to celebrate our Veterans. We were so excited to celebrate all who attended. Mr. Willson invited a quintet to play throughout the assembly, who were amazing.
Tomorrow's jr high basketball at Mid Buchanan will start at 6pm. Girls will play first followed by two quarters of B boys and then a full boys game.
